Model Do's and Dont's (1) If you get a job interview always be sure to take a chaparone with you . It can be a parent or a friend. And if the agent of the company that is calling you doesnt allow this, then here's my advice to you plain and simple. " Just dont go ". But if they do, do yourself a favor and leave your jealous boyfriend at home. (2) " Show up on time ",Time is money and casting agents have 5 things happening at once, Come prepared for what you are casting for, dont waste their time. You have 30 seconds or less to impress them and most times less than that. They are watching you right when you walk through the door and anylizing everything about you. The way you walk, the way you carry yourself, the way you look. Consider yourself under the spot light from the word next. (3) If you get the job, "Show up on time and be ready to work". The industry is smaller than you think and word travels fast if your a flake. Depending on your screw up you can be black balled forever. Think im jokeing here, well im not. Alot of behind the scenes personell work on alot of different movies and venues. And they will remember you. Your worst mistake would be to think you are to talented or to good looking to ever be black balled. Let me mention one name "Mickey Rourke" And he had it all. At one time considered hard to handle. Black balled for years. Thank goodness hes back, I personally really like him.

Dont be the class clown on set. Be professional and attentive to what the director(s) want.
And dont ever let them see you look discontent, that doesnt make them want to hire you again. If your having a bad day hide it. Leave your problems at home. (5) If you get the job and by some chance another better job gets offered to you . What do you do? Ill tell you what you do, honor your agreements. Unless it's a shot at something phenominal, keep your word and show up. If you think an extra $100.00 is the reason to flake you truely are dumb. Word of mouth is everything and there are alot more small time producers than big producers. How much business do you think you can lose? Just use your head that's all im saying. Show some class. (6) Get a modeling portfolio done and a ZED card to hand out . There is nothing more I hate than a phone call or a interview from some one thats unprepared. Casting agents and directors wont remember you. It's not their job to remember you. It's your job to get them to remember you. After all who's career is it anyways. (7) Remember it's always nice to show past work and experiences . I have an actor friend that was trying to find that dream roll but it never materialised they would tell him lack of experience. So guess what he did he bacame an extra and starred in so many movies and block busters as an extra that they actually call him now for movie extra work. Hes actually being offered talking roles now and is a regular on numerous T.V. shows as an extra. |
